# RealityScan

> RealityScan is Epic Games' 3D scanning and photogrammetry software for creating high-fidelity 3D models from photographs.

RealityScan was formerly named RealityCapture. The rename happened at the 2.0 release, so material referring to RealityCapture describes the same product line. Users still holding a legacy RealityCapture license should check the news index below for migration notices.

There are two products. RealityScan is the desktop photogrammetry application, primarily for Windows, with a Linux build intended for command-line workflows. It reconstructs models from photographs and laser scans. RealityScan Mobile is a separate free app for iOS and Android that scans using a phone or tablet.

Desktop licensing is free for students, educational institutions, and individuals or small businesses below a revenue threshold, with paid seats above it.
