We’re excited to announce the release of RealityScan Mobile 1.7—our most powerful and user-friendly update yet.
Let’s dive into what’s new.
New and updated features in RealityScan Mobile 1.7
Whether you’re a hobbyist scanning collectibles or a professional capturing assets for 3D production, this release brings smarter tools, greater flexibility, and more control to every part of your workflow.
Automatic Object Masking: turn or flip objects mid-scan
Say goodbye to the need for walking around every object. With Automatic Object Masking (available only in Camera Control Mode), you can now rotate your object in place—on a turntable or by hand—and RealityScan Mobile will still isolate it with precision. Even better, you can flip the object mid-scan to capture difficult angles that were previously a challenge. This opens up new possibilities for scanning moveable items without compromising on quality. This setting is turned on by default in Camera Control Mode, but you can always change it in the app settings.
Re-process projects anytime
Need to improve your scan? Now you can re-process any saved project with just a tap. Add more images or redefine the reconstruction region directly on the point cloud to refine your results. It’s perfect for those times when you missed an angle or want to tweak the output, like changing the texture or mesh resolutions.
300 images per scan: 20% more than before
More photos mean better reconstructions, and RealityScan Mobile 1.7 delivers just that. We’ve increased the image limit from 250 to 300 per scan, giving you better coverage for even your most complex projects.
